Food for Thought
A teambuilding event with charitable outcomes
The Barons Court Project—a charity helping the homeless and those with mental health problems—offers you the opportunity to take part in our new teambuilding and fundraising initiative, Food for Thought.
"It was a great opportunity for colleagues at Mercer to help support the homeless and those with mental health problems. We had a fun packed afternoon baking biscuits and we feel very proud to have supported the project. We raised a fabulous £93.12 from the baking effort and together with our corporate donations we raised over £400."
We have started up a programme of Supper Clubs to bring people together and to raise funds and awareness for the Project.
Service users will be doing the cooking and the serving, and learning new skills in the hope to gain employment.
The Supper Clubs are held at the project which can seat a total of 12 people downstairs in the café. Due to the small nature of the project, it will be in an intimate setting. Please don't be afraid of coming on your own, everyone is very friendly!
You will be served a delicious three-course meal, which the Project has created with in collaboration with service users. The menus are set (with a vegetarian option) and will be uploaded onto the Project's Facebook page and website before the event. Unfortunately the Project isn't able to provide alcohol but you're more than welcome to bring your own wine to accompany your meal! Because we work with people who may have had substance misuse issues, we ask you be respectful.
We ask for a donation of £35 pounds for the full meal. All proceeds from ticket sales go straight back into the charity, to keep the Project running.
